This weekend should be a fun one with a Texas Football home game, live music, and tons of comedy shows! I feel like it’s sort of a slower weekend in comparison to what the next 6 weeks or so will look like as we enter the fall craziness that is Austin, Texas.

Best thing we ate this week… If you’ve been following us for a while you know we love our cajun food. There’s another South Austin gem with roots from Lake Charles, LA that doesn’t get much influencer love and it’s called Evangeline Cafe. It’s another classic cajun restaurant, but typically when I go there I am going for a very specific item. I love their burger. It’s called the Lake Charles burger, and it’s a rendition of a burger from a place called Mary Anns that my dad would take me when we would visit Lake Charles when I was a kid. They go as far as to replicate the extremely thin onion rings that Mary Anns was known for. Unfortunately Mary Anns closed, but their burger lives on through Evangeline Cafe, and that’s a beautiful thing. Sorry the photo is not very beautiful though… it’s pretty dimly lit there!
