Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 Edition #22

The best things to do in Austin this weekend šŸ•ŗšŸ»šŸŖ©

Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 it’s National Cucumber Day! šŸ„’

ā€œImagine a universe in which you live your current life over and over again, in perpetuity. You would live exactly the same way down to the tiniest detail.ā€

Would this be terrifying? Or would this be comforting?

I hope this Nietzsche quote makes you think about whether or not you are living your life to the fullest, the way that YOU want to. It’s really simple. Do the things that will make you feel good about yourself, not just feel good.

Anyway, let’s jump right into it with a meme!

hehe

Weekend Forecast: It’s Father’s Day weekend and another beautiful sunny weekend in Austin Texas. From MTV Cribs parties to free yoga at the park, to live music with the likes of Noah Kahan and APEX Martin, depending on your style this weekend has something for everyone. šŸ˜Ž

Best thing we drank this week…  When I found out that there was only one certified organic brewery in the entire state of Texas I knew I had to try it. So this week I have been sipping on the seltzers from Big Country Brewing and had to tell you guys about them.

I had a variety 12-pack and tried 4 of the flavors. The Watermelon & Pineapple, Blackberry & Grapefruit, Prickly Pear & Peach, and Passionfruit & Kiwi. I brought it out to Blues on the Green and shared it with some friends and they were a huge hit. My personal favorites are the Watermelon Pineapple and Blackberry Grapefruit ones!

Big Country also brews beer that’s supposed to be pretty great too, but personally, I’m not a beer guy so I stick to seltzers with things like this. They’re 0 sugar, 90 calories, and are the ONLY hard seltzer carrying all 3 certifications: USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, and Fair Trade Certified and they’re made right here in Austin, Texas.

You can find them in places you already shop like H-E-B, Trader Joes, and Whole Foods! They also have a taproom up in North Austin that we haven’t gotten to check out yet that has smash burgers and wings that look to die for.

Find them at a store near you!

Most fun we had this week… Blues on the Green duh! I know it may not be the most actionable thing to put in this section because it’s not happening again until next year, but Blues on the Green was by far the most fun thing we did this week. It’s a true Austin classic, and after it almost didn’t happen this year we had to relish it in case it fails to return next year. This is one of those events that makes Austin the wonderful city that draws so many folks in. The easily accessible live music is what Austin is known for. And I hope we get to enjoy this mini summer festival for many more years to come.

New Business that we want to try… If you guys have been to any of serial entrepreneur Gabriela Alma Bucio’s many spots around town you know she does not mess around. From Gabriela’s to Taquero Mucho, to Mala Vida, Revival Coffee, and more… she knows how to put together an establishment with a captivating environment and fantastic food. I’m guessing her latest addition La Seareinita is going to be no different. Think all types of Mexican seafood, a drive-thru that serves food and takeout cocktails including margaritas, frozens, and micheladas topped with seafood dishes. This place is going to be a hit. 🦐
