Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 Edition #51
Check out the best things to do in Austin to start 2025! 🎆🏃🏻♂️➡️🎊

Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 It’s International Mind-Body Wellness Day, take a moment to relax, find new ways to destress, and reconnect with yourself today.
Happy 2025 my friends. I hope this year is full of progress and abundance for you.
Take risks. Build your dreams. Talk to all the strangers. Your life will get so much more interesting the more you branch out and put yourself out there.
Whatever your goals are for 2025, I hope you knock them out of the park.
And with that… here’s your meme for this week…

okay maybe not sooo dramatic but it was a really hot December…
Weekend Forecast: It’s an average weekend in Austin, but average in Austin still means there is tons of live music, comedy, markets, and more. The weather will be rather moderate today and tomorrow as we get ready for a massive cold front to sweep in late Sunday. Start the first weekend of the year off with a bang and get out there and do some stuff on this weeks event list! We have a few workouts and run clubs featured this week too if you’re starting 2025 out with wellness in mind. 🏃🏻➡️🏋🏻♂️

Best thing we ate this week… We went to La Piscina to celebrate Kiki’s birthday last weekend. If you haven’t heard of La Piscina it is located in the Proper Hotel which just happens to be one of the most beautiful hotels in Austin. They have several nice bars and restaurants on site, but La Piscina is focused on elevated Mexican fare. We had the chicken & steak fajitas, a few oysters (the way they dress their oysters is soooo delicious), a beet tostada, hamachi crudo, and finished with the most insane choco flan I have ever had. I had an el Mezcalero which was Dos Hombres Mezcal, olive brine, orange bitters, and citrus salt. It was basically a mezcal martini and it was delicious but surprisingly salty. Kiana had a fat glass of red wine, I don’t know if it was a birthday pour or if they usually hook it up like that but it was certainly proper!
This place is perfect for a special occasion, celebration, or just a nice night out!

Most fun we had this week… Okay so this one revolves around food this week also, but you guys have to be told about Taqueria 10/10 if you don’t already know. It’s a late night taco joint that is hidden in the alleyway behind Roma/Reina almost like a taco speakeasy. There’s a sign that says Tacos in the alley, but when you walk in and it’s just a bar you think.. “where are the tacos?” but you scan the room and find a door with a rather low key sign that says “tacos this way” go through that door and BOOM you’re in taco heaven. This place feels like a no frills taco joint serving street style tacos with only a few options but the place was buzzing. We got chicken, steak, and pastor tacos. The pastor was great, but the chicken tacos and steak tacos were legit some of the best tacos I have had in my life. Makes sense why this place won Austin Monthly’s best new restaurant of 2024.
While this could easily be best thing we ate, the experience of finding this little taco joint hidden away in an alley and having our minds blown by how delicious it was created a super fun experience and besides hanging out and watching the fireworks on new years, this was definitely the most fun thing we did this week.

New Business that we want to try… Mesmerize is a new immersive art experience that recently opened up in South Austin and it is giving mini Meow Wolf vibes (if you’ve never been to Meow Wolf it’s a crazy psychedelic immersive art gallery that will blow your mind). This place looks so visually stimulating and was created in collaboration with a handful of local artists. I cant wait to go see what it’s like in person because it looks sick on IG!
