Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 Edition #49
Check out the best things to do in Austin this weekend and more! 🎄❄️🎅🏻

Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 It’s National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! If you’re still at home reading this go to your closet right now and put on your ugliest Christmas sweater!
Whatever you celebrate we hope you are having fantastic holidays and a wonderful month of December.
I hope you are further along in your gift shopping than I am! 🙃
And with that… here’s your meme from this week sourced from Soco Scumbag

Weekend Forecast: The weather will be chilly with a low of 38 and a high of 66 this weekend but there is still time to get your last minute gift shopping done at a few holiday markets, see some live music, catch some laughs, and watch Texas smash Clemson. Christmas Eve is Sunday so things will slow down significantly after Friday and Saturday! 🎸🎄😎🍸

Best thing we ate this week… I’ve been playing a lot of late night shows on the East Side with the band lately so I have been making my way around all of the food spots that are open after midnight. I recently stumbled into Industry and was super impressed by the offerings there. I was with a group and we all ordered some things and shared. On the table were the smoked wings (half lemon pepper half buffalo) a brisket pastrami ruben, brisket tacos, braised pork belly, and a killer burger. There were Holiday parties happening when we went so it was a bit hectic, but it’s a cool spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You order at a counter and they bring you your food when it’s ready, I love these types of restaurants because you can get great food without really having to wait on people.
Definitely check out Industry next time you want to steer away from food trucks and go to an actual restaurant after midnight in East Austin.

Most fun we had this week… On Sunday we went out to the Driftwood/Dripping Springs area about 40 minutes from Austin to visit some Hill Country wineries! It was my little sisters birthday and we went to Driftwood Estate Winery (I had some of the best wine I have ever had here…) and Wimberley Valley Winery (had some great wine and some really great pizza here). The views from Driftwood Estate Winery are some of the best Hill Country views out there, and the donkeys, geese, and chickens add to the rural vibe at Wimberley Valley Winery. Clearly I have been sleeping on the Hill Country Winery scene because I had way more fun doing this than I expected to. It rained while we were out there but it was pretty cool because it resulted in the most perfect rainbow I have ever seen.
If you like wine, heading out towards Driftwood and hitting the wineries is absolutely something you should add to your list.

Its a…. double rainboooowww! 😆
New Business that we want to try… Another banger from Chef Paul Qui just opened up in town and this time it’s all about hand rolled sushi using dry aged and fresh fish. Knowing just how good all of his other concepts are, I’m sure this will be one of the most talked about restaurants in Austin over the coming months as people catch on. Just take a peek at everything on their instagram to get an idea…
