If youāre still committed to your New Years Resolution, props to you. Statistically by the end of January, 88% of people will have given up.
This is your motivation to stay locked in and be in that top 12% of people who follow through.
And with that⦠hereās your meme from this week! Now letās jump into itā¦

hey at least maybe weāll get some snow š¤·š»āāļøāāļø
Weekend Forecast: With lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s, Iād advise you get out and enjoy this weather before weāre stuck with lows in the 20ās and highs in the 30ās next week. There are tons of fun things happening, from comedy shows with Joey Avery, DJ sets with members of the Black Pumas, not-so-secret tunnel shows, and more. Itāll be a great weekend if you choose to make it one! āØ

Best thing we ate this week⦠I went and tried Knuckle Sandwich, this place makes some of the best sandwiches in town. The minds behind it were formerly part of the Emmer & Rye Hospitality group that just won multiple Michelin accolades. The grains are locally sourced from Barton Springs Mill, the bread is Baked by Pullman market in San Antonio, the Charcuterie is from Olympia Provisions, and itās all top quality. I had the Knuckle Sandwich, which is their take on an Italian sub with mortadella, salami, capicola, Mamma Lilās peppers, shredded lettuce, parm crisps, and amba aioli. The quality of the sandwich reflects the quality of ingredients used, which is to say it was incredible. The best sub sandwich I have had in Austin, bar none. Definitely go give this place a shot if you like a good sub sandwich.
Pro tip: Donāt sleep on the house pickles. Theyāre a mix of beets, onions, and cauliflower and my god theyāre perfect.

Most fun we had this week⦠Okay so we went to a comedy show Sunday night again put on by my friend Eleazar, and it was great, I laughed my a** off. But what happened afterwards was a movie. I was with my bandmate Blaise, and we heard there was a jam night going on across the street at Friends Bar.
After the show we rolled over there and put our names down on the list. There were some heavy hitters that appeared: Ricky Duran who placed pretty highly on The Voice, Darius Jackson who recently played shows with Kingfish, and supposedly even Gary Clark Jr. himself pops out to this sometimes (although not when we were there).
Eventually Blaise and I got our turn and had our friend Jacob West (who absolutely shreds the guitar in the cowboy hat below) join us on stage. We closed out the night and brought the house down with a few well known tunes. Itās one of the longest running jam nights in the country, apparently it has been going on for something like 30 years. If youāre looking for a lively environment with some awesome musicians making magic on Sunday night, it starts at 10p and was such a cool thing to randomly roll into. Youāll catch me there a lot more in the future.

New Business that we want to try⦠I first heard about this one sometime in the middle of last year and I am soooo excited that it is finally coming soon! (Early 2025) Leona Botanical Cafe and Bar is a collab between the teams behind Vera Cruz All Natural, and DeeDee Thai. It is a garden space that will sit on 5 acres. Theyāll serve cocktails, coffee, and dishes that highlight Thai and Mexican cultures. Vera Cruz is one of our favorite taco spots in town (the Migas is the best Migas around, and the Shrimp Macha is one of my favorite tacos in Austin) and I havenāt tried DeeDee Thai yet, but following her on Instagram I am so inspired and impressed by how she uses ingredients from her own garden to make dishes. She even grows her own papayas! This place will be a must try as soon as it opens and Iām sure itāll live up to the hype.

Price: $600,000
Neighborhood: Hyde Park
Square Feet: 922

This 1940s Hyde Park gem blends vintage vibes with modern upgrades. The kitchen pops with custom shaker cabinets, sleek Silestone counters, and gold hardware, while warm hardwoods and exposed shiplap bring character throughout. The bathroom feels like a spa, thanks to marbled herringbone tile and clean Scandinavian design. A 2015 remodel added a new foundation, updated systems, Andersen windows, and more, so itās as solid as it is charming. Outside, thereās a spacious corner lot with a private yard and a shed-turned-workout space. Walk to Antonelliās, Home Slice, or Fresh Plusāthis part of town has a lot to offer and every time I drive through I remark at how cool the vibes are.
