Check out our list of the best things to do in Austin this weekend! ššŖ»šø

Happy Friday ATX! š¤ Itās officially spring! Donāt blink, you might miss it! šāļø
Itās so easy to get caught up in the hustle of this city, and that pressure can be great when trying to move the needle from where you are, to where you want to be, but sometimes you just need to remember that the rest of nature doesnāt play these games.
Itās okay (and sometimes even necessary) to slow down, to get some sunlight, to take a deep breath, and to just exist.
And with that⦠hereās your meme for this weekā¦

so dumb⦠Iām sorry

Weekend Forecast: Now that SXSW is over weāre back to our regularly scheduled programming of weekly coffee clubsā¦. š With highs in the 80s throughout the weekend, you should definitely get out there and soak up this weather before it gets 20 degrees hotter. Check out our full event section at the bottom for a list of reasons you shouldnāt just stay home all weekend. Some of our favorites are Roast Battle, a day party at Reina, and the grand reopening of Bungalow!

Best thing we ate this week⦠It was late at night, I was starving after playing drums at the new weekly jam at Austin Garden & Studio, and directly across the street sits Uptown Sports Club. Uptown Sports club is a Cajun restaurant over on the East Side. Iāve been there once when they first opened, and loved the shrimp poboy.
This week however, I had to verify the rumor that they had one of the best burgers in Austin. Now thatās a big statement, but is it true? Well letās find out. Itās a simple recipe, double patties, double cheese, pickles, mayo, and Dijon mustard. Even with its inherent simplicity, the execution stood out. Not surprising for a restaurant that is the brain child of Aaron Franklin. Itās the exact right ratio of meat, bread, and cheese, with perfectly cooked patties, and the Dijon mustard added just the right amount of zing. Is it the best burger in Austin? Ha thatās a loaded question, and I donāt think youāll ever get a clear cut answer from me on that one, but itās certainly up there.
As someone with a Cajun background, Iām pretty particular about my gumbo, and Iād be remiss if I didnāt mention that the cup of gumbo I had was awesome. I inhaled it and wished I had ordered a bowl instead of a cup, but had to restrain myself because I knew I had a double cheeseburger on the way! š
Pro tip: the roasted garlic aioli that they served the fries with was crack. Make sure you ask for it if they donāt give it to you.

Most fun we had this week⦠Aaaand the award for the coolest pool table in Austin goes to⦠The Flower Shop. We featured this bar that hails from NYC in the ānew business we want to tryā segment when they first opened up a while back. Having gone a few times now, it really is one of my favorite places to go grab a drink in town. The energy on the rooftop is great, everyone from the bartenders to the patrons always seems to be having a fun time. Indoors feels like youāre stepping back 5 decades into the 1970s, with rich wood paneling, floral upholstered banquettes, and vintage trinkets everywhere you look. They serve food til 10p, and they have a simple but classy cocktail list. I had the paper plane and ordered some mozzarella sticks and spinach and artichoke dip to share. The Flower Shop rocks, and if you havenāt been yet, take this as a sign to go check it out.

New Business that we want to try⦠Not exactly ānewā but Bungalow is back! After shutting down in 2022 to make way for a high-rise, the beloved Rainey Street bar is making a grand returnāthis time in the former Icenhauerās spot. The news was confirmed on Instagram: āAfter a few years of silence, weāre rising from the ashes⦠Get ready, Austin.ā Known for its Sunday Fundays, reverse brunch, and dog-friendly patio, the grand reopening party is all day starting at 12p Sunday, March 23, at 83 Rainey St.

Having driven past it thousands of times growing up, this has always been one of my favorite houses in all of Austin. The Bohn Houseāone of Austinās most iconic homesāis on the market for the first time in a decade. Originally designed in 1938 by Roy L. Thomas and reimagined by Dick Clark & Associates in 2014, this 6,528 SF Streamline Moderne masterpiece in Pemberton Heights blends Art Deco charm with modern luxury. Walls of glass capture stunning skyline views, while the gourmet kitchen, dramatic solarium dining room, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow make it perfect for entertaining. The backyard oasis features a pool, spa, summer kitchen, and rooftop deck. Complete with a wine room, solar panels, and historical tax exemption.
