Best thing we ate this week… I’ve been wanting to try Ezov since they opened up in April of last year. They’re under the Emmer & Rye umbrella (the minds behind celebrated Austin restaurants like Hestia and Canje), and they have received numerous accolades, including a Michelin recommendation and a shoutout from the New York Times.
At Ezov, Chef Berty Richter is serving up elevated dishes inspired by the street markets of Tel Aviv in his home country of Israel. This restaurant is fantastic for dates and groups, as almost everything they serve is designed to be shared. We tried a whole bunch of things. To start, we had the hummus with blue crab, smashed cucumbers over smoked labne, the whipped feta, and their house-made Frena bread. Next up, we had the charred octopus, the chicken shwarma, and the lamb kebab. All of the dishes were presented beautifully. Our favorites were basically all of the dips, the octopus, and the chicken shawarma. To drink we had a bottle of Spanish wine from their expertly selected wine list, and I had to try the Tom Selek - a cocktail with mezcal, beet juice, pineapple, chili, and lemon. As a mezcal lover, this was one of my favorite mezcal cocktails that I’ve had.
All in all, would I recommend Ezov? 10 times out of 10. The next time you want to go somewhere a bit elevated for dinner, make sure this place is on your list of considerations. It does not disappoint, and I can’t wait to return.

Most fun we had this week… Okay, why has no one told me how awesome Cidercade is?! The nostalgia of old arcade games, their unique flavors of cider, the delicious pizza. I’m sort of bummed I didn’t figure this out sooner.
We’re not really gamers, but we went so we could do something fun indoors and escape the rain and we had a freaking blast. It was only $12 for UNLIMITED game play, no quarters or tokens were needed. They had all of the arcade games you could imagine… Guitar Hero, Mario Kart, Jurassic Park, a section with like 20 pinball machines inspired by classic films and pillars of culture like Star Wars, JAWS, and even a Foo Fighters pinball machine to just name a few. We ate a pepperoni and honey pizza that was bomb and tried a few of their in-house ciders that were delicious. We got there around 9 and had so much fun that time flew by and the next thing we knew, the bartender was literally unplugging our machine mid-game and kicking us (and everyone else) out at midnight.
I highly recommend going here with friends or on a date and letting your competitive side shine. This was undoubtedly the most fun thing we did this week.

New Business that we want to try… Klerje Coffee: Honestly, the fact that they have Nitro Thai Tea (which sounds so amazing) is all I needed to know for this to make this segment. I will report back with my findings soon.
