Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 It’s National Pet Day! Make sure to squeeze your pets! (or someone else’s if you don’t have one) 🐈😻🐕🦺🐶
I have been putting the pressure on myself lately to an extreme degree. If you’ve been doing the same thing, take a second to breathe.
Take a moment to remember that in 2025, we live the highest quality of life of any humans to have ever existed on the face of the earth.
What are the odds that you came into existence during this period of the timeline?
They’re reeeaallllly small.
Like 1 in a trillion small.

Weekend Forecast: It’s going to be a perfect weekend to get out on the town and enjoy being outside. Weather is looking perfect this weekend, with sunny skies and highs in the 80s. Some of our favorite events are AM Wellness Disco, COTA Cars and Coffee, and a Creed X Nickelback listening party called Creedickel at one of our favorite bars! 😂🤯
Best thing we ate this week… Kept it simple this week but ate at a place in North Austin that I hadn’t eaten at since I was a kid when they had a South Austin location. Zen is a “fast Japanese food” restaurant that started out like a Chipotle for Japanese food, but they offer waaaay more than just bowls these days. I had the steak shishito bowl. It comes with rice, steak, cremini mushrooms, grilled onions, and 3 tempura onion rings topped with Teriyaki sauce. It was a blast from the past for me and was super solid for a cheap, fast meal. It’s up off of Anderson Lane so if that’s your neck of the woods or if you find yourself up there, it’s worth stopping in for a quick lunch!
Zen Fast Japanese
Most fun we had this week… This week, I (Kiana) led a Sunset Paddle Board Yoga class on the lake, and it was my favorite time to be out on the water. The weather was perfect, the water was calm and still, and the peaceful energy made it easy to drop in. As we wrapped up class, we looked out and caught the Congress Bridge bats flying across the sky, with the sunset and city adding a pretty incredible backdrop.
Big shoutout to Austin Paddle Co, a local gem with super sturdy inflatable boards that make paddling (and practicing) super easy yo grandma could do it and they’re travel-friendly! They offer rentals throughout the week, and this time of year is ideal for getting outside and enjoying Austin from the water.
Pro tip: Did you know that simply being near water can reduce stress and improve your mood? Just one more reason to spend time outdoors this season. 🌊🧘♀️✨
SUP Yoga w/ Austin Paddle Co
New Business that we want to try… Pins Mechanical Co is bringing 43,000 square feet of fun to South Congress. We’re talking 20 bowling lanes, 25+ pinball machines, 29 classic arcade games, giant jenga, ping pong, 3 bars, fire pits, and more! With how much fun we had at Cidercade a few weeks ago, I’m super stoked for this to open up next week on April 17th!
